Janiva has served as Executive Director for Chestnut Hill Benevolent Association since February 2003. Since 1987 and prior to coming to the BA, she also served as Executive Director at two other Christian Science nursing facilities: Lynn House of Potomac Valley, Inc. in Virginia, and The Leaves, Inc. in Texas.
Janiva has served in a number of positions in AOCSN (Association of Christian Science Nursing Organizations/Facilities, Inc.) including serving on the task force that established The Commission which inspects and accredits Christian Science nursing facilities. She has conducted facility inspections for The Commission as well as for The Mother Church (prior to The Commission). She has extensive experience working with Medicare and insurance with Christian Science benefits.
Janiva is a member of the Copyright Group which has written the text for Christian Science Nursing Arts courses I-X, which is taught at the BA’s Christian Science Nurses Training School. Prior to her work with Christian Science nursing facilities she was in commercial real estate. Following college Janiva spent one year as a Christian Science youth speaker for the Board of Lectureship of The Mother Church. She graduated from Principia College.
