A Refuge for Healing and Renewal

Before coming to the Benevolent Association, I had been struggling with a physical challenge for a couple of weeks. I was having difficulty retaining food and had experienced a loss of strength so I decided that I should go the BA for care. When I arrived at the BA, six nurses helped to settle me comfortably in bed. Over the next few days they gently, lovingly, and skillfully assisted me with eating, moving, personal care, and rest. The BA became a quiet refuge for spiritual refreshment and healing, away from the concerns of my family and friends who did not expect me to return home. The nursing staff was able to reassure them with expectancy of healing.

After two days at the BA, I felt an adjustment in my body. When the nurses came in that next morning to move me, I found that I was completely free of the pain and could sit up on my own. I knew that this was a decisive step in the healing. During the next month with the continued support of the nursing staff and practitioner, I regained my strength and was able to eat normally. My son and daughters visited daily and gained an appreciation for the quality of care provided by the nurses. We were so grateful for this healing!
