Inspiring opportunity for young adults to serve the Christian Science movement

Christian Science young adults have a new avenue for serving and learning: The Christian Science Nursing Youth Service Corps (CSNYSC).

Christian Scientists between 18 and 30 can apply for a 9-month or 12-week opportunity to serve in a Christian Science nursing facility. Participants will learn and practice some of the skills and approaches needed for operating a facility, including orientations to Christian Science nursing, communications, food service, and administration. The commitment is 20 working hours per week and a desire to grow as a Christian Scientist. Participants will be paid $15 per hour and provided housing. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a $1000- $2500 scholarship toward an educational institution.

This program is designed for those looking for a way to express their love of Christian Science and Christian Scientists. It will call forth participants’ capacity to be “cheerful, orderly, punctual, patient, full of faith, — receptive to Truth and Love,” qualities Mary Baker Eddy singled out as important to nursing (see Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures 395:18). The BA will be one of the seven facilities to pilot this program in September.
