Christian Science Chaplain Proves the Power of Prayer in a Gas Chamber

We are bringing back an inspiring account shared by Retired Army Colonel Janet Horton a few years ago after she spoke at one of the BA’s Christian Science Nursing Arts graduation ceremonies.  Janet describes how focused prayer and study of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy helped her completely overcome the fear and effects of exposure in a gas chamber.

Listen to Janet’s firsthand experience…
“When I was in Seminary, it wasn’t uncommon to hear people who knew anything about the military … to tell you the war stories about the worst thing that happened in basic training….” Click to hear the audio…

Love this yet-another-example of a life committed to serving God and digging deep into Science and Health for inspiration and how this pure devotion attracts the hungering thought.

A most inspiring account of how being prayed up blesses all within that radius of thought—and beyond! Thank you for sharing this.

Wow! What an inspiring experience, and what an incentive to regularly read the chapter of Science and Health “Animal Magnetism Unmasked”.

  4. Rhonda says:

Thank you for the very helpful account. I’ll be reading and rereading the chapter on animal magnetism…(=

Thank you very much for sharing(: it sounds like a holy experience. It reminds me a little of Daniel in the Lion’s Den.

Dear BA and dear Janet, Thank you. How powerful and sweet and natural and pure. Never breathe an immoral atmosphere unless in the attempt to purify it. As you all may know the last few months in Germany have been very unusual as we open our doors to hungering hearts fleeing very immoral situations of brutality, insecurity, hate, and war. This experience of Janet’s powerfully fuels and encourages my prayers. Humanly I have been surprised and sometimes encouraged by what I witness here in Dresden regarding the refugee crisis. You have tenderly alerted me to a much higher and effective level for my prayers. Lots of Love and appreciation, Rick Stewart, Dresden, Germany
