The Residences at 910 is a senior independent living community, on the campus of Chestnut Hill Benevolent Association.  All who live and work here contribute to the healing atmosphere, which this refuge for healing represents.

To support the independence of our residents, there are a variety of services offered.  Examples are housekeeping, meals, laundry, and more. The “more” gets to the heart of this work and the services we can provide to assist with activities that help residents remain independent.  Below are only a few examples of activities that a Residential Assistant will provide:

Job duties:

  • Regular check-ins and reminders
  • Assistance in reading the Christian Science Bible Lesson Sermon and Christian Science periodicals
  • Reviewing daily activities and encouraging residents to attend events that are interesting to them
  • Eating meals with residents
  • Assistance with mail and/or emails
  • Assistance with use of technology
  • Accompanying residents to desired activities and personal appointments
  • And many more activities to meet each resident’s individual situation

 

Qualifications:

  • Have a sense of service in one’s heart, demonstrable knowledge of Christian Science practice, patience, practical wisdom, willingness to listen, genuine interest in learning about another’s interests, ability to multitask and shift gears, practical creativity. Membership in The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, MA required; Christian Science class instruction preferred.

 

Reports to Residential and Guest Services Manager and works closely with Assistant Manager, Activities Coordinator and Senior Van Driver.

Training will be provided.

Position can be part-time (one, two, or three days per week) or full-time.  Our services and activities are provided seven days a week.  Therefore, weekend coverage is needed.
