Copywriter – Marketing Communications

(Freelance or Part-time employee options)

 

Seeking an experienced writer to create engaging electronic and print messages for our marketing and development initiatives to promote the work and mission of the BA in a consistent, appropriate, and uplifting way.  Our primary focus areas include: Christian Science nursing, the Christian Science Nurses Training School, and The Residences at 910.

JOB OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position reports to the Marketing Manager and works with the Director of Development, BA Marketing Communications staff, department managers, and other BA staff.  Expertise needed and projects include:

  • The ability to bring a Christian Science perspective to compelling marketing copy is critical.
  • Potential projects include writing for marketing initiatives such as monthly e-news, program emails, copy for marketing collateral, social media posts, website and blog content.
  • Writing content for development initiatives such as appeal letters, donor communications and campaign materials.
  • Conducting interviews with subject matter experts.
  • Responsive communicator with the ability to take feedback and quickly and accurately make revisions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:  Membership in The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, MA, is required and class instruction by an authorized teacher of Christian Science is preferred.  Metaphysically supports mission of the BA.  Meticulous ethics and confidentiality are essential.  Ability to approach communications projects with metaphysical maturity and a healing tone.  Essential job-related experience or skills required include:

  • 2+ years of experience in marketing copywriting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism or related field.
  • Excellent written, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for collaborating with a team.
  • Experience in working under tight deadlines and the ability to initiate, implement, and manage multiple projects.
  • Computer expertise in MS Word is required.

 

This can be a freelance or part-time employee position.  On-site work may not be required.
