Volunteering at the BA

“. . . where heart meets heart reciprocally blest . . . .”
(Miscellaneous Writings, page 207)

You are warmly invited to express your love, your support of the Christian Science healing ministry, and your talents by volunteering at the BA. Currently, in accord with government guidelines, much volunteering is being done virtually rather than on-site. Some of the ways volunteers can contribute include:

Reading to patients:

  • At our weekly Thursday evening services
  • During late-morning small gatherings to hear the Bible Lesson
  • One-on-one sharing of the Bible, Mrs. Eddy’s writings, and other authorized Christian Science literature

Playing and singing music:

  • At a hymn sing
  • For group sing-a-alongs or concerts

Sharing a talent or interest with residents or patients:

  • Teaching art, a movement class, etc.
  • Sharing a hobby, such as birding, photography, travel, crafts, etc.
  • Giving a talk
  • Reading and discussing a book
  • Discussing The Christian Science Monitor
  • Working in the BA’s extensive gardens and grounds
  • Helping with painting and building projects
  • Providing office/copy/typing support
