Last month, as part of the AARP’s “Cupid Crew” program, two Boston-area Girl Scout troops sent handmade valentines to individuals who live at The Residences at 910 on the BA campus. The purpose of “Cupid Crew” is to have volunteers send cards to older adults on Valentine’s Day, creating connections and sending messages of love, hope, and kindness.
The BA residents, inspired by the cards they had received, sent back thank you notes comprised of haiku poems they enjoyed writing and decorating (see photos above). Since it was Girl Scout cookie season as well, many residents had ordered their favorites from the troops, which became a sweet inspiration for several of the haiku.
