Your help is needed and greatly appreciated
Your gifts to the General Fund are vital to the healing work of the Benevolent Association. They provide for our Christian Science nursing services, help support the training of Christian Science nurses, subsidize onsite housing for Christian Science nurses, help purchase new equipment, and make needed repairs.
This past year, while following federal, state, and local regulations, we continued to see significant revenue losses in our programs and unexpected costs. We are grateful that we were able to continuously provide Christian Science nursing care and Christian Science nurses training thanks in part to your contributions to the General Fund.
A major focus for this year is hiring and retaining Christian Science nurses. We need to increase our staff to meet the large demand for our Christian Science nursing services. Your contributions to the General Fund are a crucial support for this important goal.
Below are some of the other essential projects that your gifts to the General Fund will help make possible:
$125,000 | Improvements to onsite housing for Christian Science nurses. Upgrading and redesigning the three shared community kitchens to increase storage and counter space, provide additional refrigerators and small appliances to make these kitchens more functional for the many Christian Science nurses using them. Two new laundry rooms and four washers and dryers are also included.
$59,800 | Ceiling lifts for patient rooms. A ceiling lift makes moving a patient — from a bed to a chair, for example — easier and more comfortable.
$13,000 | New paint and carpeting for patient rooms. Refreshing and updating patient rooms is a priority in our 20-year-old building.
$11,000 | New hallway carpet for the third floor west wing. This replaces the worn, decades-old carpet on the third floor of the Original Building.
