Christian Science Nursing
Our Christian Science nursing services provide a healing refuge and tender, skilled care for those relying on Christian Science for treatment.
The foundation for Christian Science nursing is securely established in the Bible, and in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Mrs. Eddy sets forth in the Church Manual By-law (Article VIII, Sect. 31) the requirements and standard for its practice. It reads in part, “A member of The Mother Church who represents himself or herself as a Christian Science nurse shall be one who has a demonstrable knowledge of Christian Science practice, who thoroughly understands the practical wisdom necessary in a sickroom, and who can take proper care of the sick…” (click link to the right for full text of By-law).
This By-law is a guide and standard in ministering to the needs regarding mobility and activity, nourishment, cleanliness, communication, comfort, rest, and one’s surroundings.
Christian Science Nursing Admission Coordinators are available twenty-four hours a day to respond to all requests for inpatient, outpatient, and visiting Christian Science nursing care. All Christian Science nursing care is given under the direct supervision of a Journal-listed Christian Science nurse.
