FAQs

1. Why does the BA need donations?
Revenues the BA receives from Christian Science nursing services and other programs are not sufficient to cover the full cost of the BA’s operations. For example, tuition for Christian Science nurses training only covers 17% of the cost of this program. The remaining costs are paid for by donations. In a typical year, about 35% of the BA’s support comes through donations.

2. How often do you have matching opportunities?
The BA tries to offer at least one matching opportunity annually. Our ability to offer this special giving opportunity depends on funding.

3. How do I name the BA in my estate plans?
If you would like to include the BA in your will, trust, or IRA, you should name the BA as follows: Chestnut Hill Benevolent Association of Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, 02467. For further information, please read Estate and Planned Gifts. If you need the BA’s tax identification number, please contact Jennie Christensen, Director of Development, at jchristensen@chbenevolent.org or call 617-975-2516.

4. How can I make a memorial gift to the BA?
We are honored that you thought of us for this special gift. To make a memorial gift, please include a note with your gift letting us know the name of the person you are honoring. If you provide us with the name and address of the person’s family, we will send a letter to the family notifying them of your gift.
