Making Every Detail Shine: Meet Saadia

There is a certain peace that comes with entering a space that feels truly cared for. At the BA, that sense of welcome and pristine comfort is due in part to the tireless dedication and compassionate leadership of Saadia, Manager of Environmental Services from XENDELLA. 

For the past two years, Saadia has overseen the cleaning of the Christian Science Nursing Building and the Original Building with a level of excellence that transcends simple “housekeeping.” With over a decade of experience, she views her role as an essential part of the guest experience. 

The art of the first impression 

Saadia is a firm believer that the atmosphere of the BA begins the moment a guest walks through the door. Whether she is dusting the lighting fixtures in the Dining Room or shampooing carpets, her focus is always on the person who will eventually enjoy the space. 

“The first impression means everything,” Saadia said. “I always express to my staff that what we do matters. We clean the front reception area every single day because when people walk into the BA, how we are vacuuming the floors or dusting the fixtures…it’s going to make people want to come back.” 

A stickler for excellence 

One of Saadia’s keys to success is her “stickler for details” policy. When preparing a Rest & Study room, she approaches it with the heart of a host: 

• Precision: Ensuring towels are perfectly matched and beds are expertly made. 

• Care: Adding those small touches, like folding toilet paper a certain way, to signal that the room was prepared with excellence. 

• Love: Being considerate. “I just think about putting myself in someone else’s shoes,” she explained. “How would I like a room to look when I walk into it?” 

Dedicated leadership 

Saadia’s management skills are truly put to the test during the BA’s busiest seasons. During these peak times, she and her team have successfully turned over as many as 21 rooms in a single day—all while maintaining their high standard of 45 minutes of cleaning per room. 

“I love what I do,” Saadia noted, and the results speak for themselves. The BA frequently receives glowing compliments from guests regarding the exceptional cleanliness and warmth of the facilities. 

Beyond the BA 

When she isn’t ensuring the BA is sparkling, Saadia brings that same high energy to her personal life. A true fitness enthusiast, she loves spending time at the gym and enjoys the thrill of competing at track meets.
