The BA welcomes Asher House to the neighborhood

We spoke with Emma Herman, Director of Programs at Asher Student Foundation, to learn about the newest Asher House to open in our neighborhood.

Welcome to the neighborhood! Where is the new Asher House located?

The house is located at 43 Ackers Avenue, Brookline, MA, about a mile from the BA, Star Market, Chestnut Hill Reservoir, as well as a 10-minute walk from the nearest T-stop.

We had a chance to tour the new house–it’s lovely! How would you describe the house?

The newly renovated house has six resident bedrooms, three shared bathrooms plus two guest bathrooms, two kitchens, two dining areas, three decks and spacious common areas.

How many residents can live there at one time?

We can house up to six residents.

What do people need to know about the requirements for residency?

Applicants for residency must be enrolled in an accredited college, university or certificate program or a recent graduate. We also accept student interns and individuals taking Christian Science class instruction.

Applicants must be practicing Christian Scientists who rely on Christian Science for healing and who uphold the moral standards of Christian Science. Membership in The Mother Church and/or a branch church is encouraged.

What does the pricing structure look like?

For students and recent graduates, our rate is $775/month. Rent includes all utilities and WiFi.

We’re so grateful to have you in the neighborhood!
