Loving support for expectant parents

The BA’s Mother & Infant Care Service is active throughout the year with a team of Journal-listed Christian Science nurses who provide the loving support of Christian Science nursing for expectant parents. Christian Science nurses work side-by-side with families during labor and delivery, providing loving, practical care for this sweet time of the baby’s arrival.

We provide support in the specific role of Christian Science nursing. This would also include the family engaging professionals trained specifically for the responsibility regarding the delivery who would be present at a birth—midwives, physicians and/or registered nurses. We are prepared to work in a variety of settings. The Christian Science nurses who work with the family will be prepared to be on call for the weeks surrounding the due date.

Having a Christian Science nurse by my side as I went into labor, gave birth, and then brought my newborn home made all the difference in the world.
from a grateful parent

Parents who have used our Mother & Infant Care Service express gratitude for their experience:

“The Mother & Infant Care services at the BA are such a blessing. Having a Christian Science nurse by my side as I went into labor, gave birth, and then brought my newborn home made all the difference in the world. During my first pregnancy, it was reassuring to have the calm, quiet, prayerful, and supportive presence of the Christian Science nurse by my side as she coached me through what was happening. While my midwife was also supportive, the Christian Science nurse understood what I really needed to know and hear to meet my needs as I worked from a metaphysical basis.

And the continuing support the Christian Science nurses provided once I brought my daughter home was invaluable. It can feel overwhelming to become a parent for the first time since there’s so much unknown. But the Christian Science nurses helped, coached, and reassured my husband and me as we embarked into the first few days of parenthood.”
