Stepping into a new role

The BA is grateful to announce Caitlin Sheasley is stepping into the role of Director of Christian Science Nursing. Caitlin brings to this post a depth and breadth of experience in Christian Science nursing, and we’re grateful for the provision of continuity in support of carrying out the mission of the BA. 

A new chapter

Caitlin became listed in The Christian Science Journal shortly before graduating from the Christian Science Nursing Arts (CSNA) in 2013. She served for several years as a supervisor on the Christian Science nursing floor while also teaching and mentoring part-time in the BA’s Christian Science Nurses Training School. Later, she moved into the full-time work of instructing and mentoring at all four levels of the CSNA. She has supported the BA’s Visiting Christian Science Nursing Service and continues to be a member of the Mother and Infant Care Team. She has also served as a Christian Science nurse at Camps Newfound/Owatonna over several summers and continues to take private duty cases in the community. 

“I am immensely grateful for the instruction and mentoring that I received while in training at the BA,” said Caitlin. “I had such wonderful support from my mentors, instructors, and managers—they provided me with the needful guidance as my practice has expanded and deepened over the years. And it is a joy to begin this new chapter as the BA’s Director of Christian Science Nursing.” 

The Director of Christian Science Nursing shepherds and supports the staff of Christian Science nurses—working together as a team to provide spiritually-impelled, loving, skilled, individualized care to all those calling on the By-law.  One unique aspect of working in this role at the BA is the partnership with the BA’s Christian Science Nurses Training School. 

Working closely & collaboratively

Heather Worley, also a graduate of the CSNA, has been in the role of Director of Christian Science Nurses Training since the spring of 2024 and brings more than two decades of Christian Science nursing experience to the position. Caitlin and Heather work closely and collaboratively to support those who are enrolled in the training program and to grow the number of Christian Science nurses on staff at the BA and throughout the Field.  

“Our management team at the BA, Directors in the Christian Science Nursing Department along with our team of supervisors on the Christian Science nursing floor, have a deep love for the BA’s training school,” says Heather. “They recognize their significant role in supporting the school through the wonderful standard of care for those who are relying on Christian Science for healing.” 

Management also recognizes the joy and responsibility of supporting those who are in training as they continue to develop their practice of Christian Science nursing.  The Training School naturally supports the high standard of the Church Manual in the Christian Science nursing services at the BA—through mentoring on the Christian Science nursing floor, in the Care Room, in the Visiting Christian Science Nursing Service, and through the Mother and Infant Care services. 

The BA is grateful to have two such well-trained and experienced Christian Science nurses serving in these important roles and dedicated to fulfilling the mission of the BA.
