The BA’s Christian Science Nurses Training School has a full schedule of courses planned this year. Complete details for all courses can be found on our website.
Do you know someone who is feeling called to serve Church and support healing? Our next introductory level course, Christian Science Nursing Arts I, begins on March 24, 2026.
The quiet, holy work of Christian Science nursing brings much joy to those who represent themselves as Christian Science nurses. Mary Baker Eddy writes, “Christianity is the basis of true healing. Whatever holds human thought in line with unselfed love, receives directly the divine power” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 192: 29). The presence and power of God is deeply tangible in the unselfed ministry of Christian Science nursing.
This course involves four weeks in our classroom at the Benevolent Association in Boston, followed by six weeks of side-by-side mentored instruction from Journal-listed Christian Science nurses. The training is offered to dedicated members of The Mother Church in preparation for a practice in this spiritual ministry that meets the standard and requirements of the Church Manual By-law “Christian Science Nurse” (Mary Baker Eddy, Manual of the Mother Church, p. 49:7).
There is a great need for Christian Science nurses in our movement. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more, we welcome the opportunity to share more about this precious work and its support for healing.
Generous financial support is available to cover tuition and the cost of training. Please reach out to learn more.
We are grateful to be offering a one-week course on Mentoring in the art of Christian Science nursing. This course is offered for Journal-listed Christian Science nurses. Consideration may be given in some instances for individuals not yet listed in The Christian Science Journal who will be supporting mentoring activities in the near future. This one-week class will be held at the BA from May 18-22, 2026.
Please contact us at csnursingarts@chbenevolent.org with any questions.
The BA is grateful to offer a one-day workshop for Journal-listed Christian Science nurses on Friday, June 5, 2026, prior to Annual Meeting weekend. This year’s continuing education workshop will support participants with reviewing and refining ethics, judgment, and skills needed in supporting individuals regarding the needs of mobility and activity.
The topics covered will include
making keen assessments when sudden needs are presented;
working with individuals when there is a need for more advanced support with lifting and moving; and
working with slide sheets and other mobility aids.
We’ll discuss caring for individuals within the refuge of a facility, the individual’s home, and in a camp or school setting, all with the natural emphasis on representing the Church Manual By-law “Christian Science Nurse”.
Applications are due Friday, May 1. Please contact us at csnursingarts@chbenevolent.org with questions or for more details.
